A home for our photos
This is just a little collection of 1s and 0s to gather our memories together. The easiest way to define us is around the teachers - if you were teaching at Yamba or Mili primary between April and July 2008, or you overlapped with people who were, "you" are we. I wondered for a while whether I ought to think of this as a very personal little corner of the internet, designed only for those of us who where there, or to have it as somewhere I could point anyone to and say "go there and you'll see what Africa was like for me". Then I decided to do both. So I hope this can be very personal, and always make us feel connected, but I'd also like to welcome visitors (who will, I assume, mostly be our friends) into what was an amazing experience. If you disagree completely with this approach, shout.
The only other thing I need to say, of course, is that this will only ever be as good as the photos we gather - so if you can send yours to me* that would be fantastic. We always said we'd collect every single one, even the stupid blurry ones, or the really dodgy poses... and let people who look at them decide which ones they want to pay attention to.
*The practicalities of that might vary, depending how many and how big yours are... I guess that for many of us, emailing them would take too long (tho my gmail inbox is plenty big enough to cope, if you want to try). Posting CDs might be the way to go - just email me and I'll send my address, or suggest alternatives.
