Normal service will be resumed shortly, I promise - right now I have huge worries, and no time to even do the worrying in, so for a couple more weeks this'll be in hibernation. When I've done my grade 8 flute exam & university interviews I'll be back... sorry...

As of 5:20pm today, for what I think is the first time since I started my AS/A levels (excluding the time around study leave), I have no outstanding homework to worry about. That's right, as far as I know I've done all the work I've been set :-D. It's a good feeling, tho the fact that this is the first time does make me wonder whether I'm just really lazy, and procrastinate too much, or whether they work us too hard... I'm inclined to go for the latter ;-)
Of course, that doesn't mean I've got no commitments - the first and most pressing being flute practice, if I'm going to have any hope of passing my Grade 8 exam... but after that, I think I'm largely my own man, and can do as I please without feeling guilty for the remaining 2/3 hours of the weekend... Huzzah!

Got my flute back from a general overhaul and service today [the sort of thing that you should really do every year, and I've never done before in the ??? years I've owned it :-(]. And I can really feel a difference. Which is nice, because it suggests that I'm not such a bad flautist: when the instrument is happier, I get a bit better :-D.
But the big thing is that I also get happier - cos the sound is beautiful at the moment... I usually get a nice warm feeling on low D, just because that particular note seems to make it really easy to get a good rich tone. But today I've been getting the same thing on lots of notes, and it feels gooooood :-) I love my music :-)
