Yet again I leave you hanging, with no updates :-( Ah well...
Much has again been occurring. Saw R.E.M. at Hyde Park, which was rather incredible :-D Probably the second best night ever, (after U2, which was so much more than just a gig...) Then came the end of an era: the last Music residential before both Ben and Sabs leave :-( I'm sure you're thinking "who's he talking about", since I never seem to mention anyone else on this (I guess cos I don't know how much of their lives they want publicised), but suffice to say that many things will not be the same now. However, we must move onwards, ever onwards...
And England are being well and truly stuffed (in the ashes, in case you were wondering), yet again, and we've only had three days play. It was all going so well, too - very little to choose between the two sides in the one-day games, then on the first day we bowled them out for 190. 190. And we still didn't get a 1st innings lead. Every series it's the same: the media announce that England have actually got a really good chance this time, and then we get humiliated. And with all due respect to Ian Bell, WTF were the selectors thinking? You do not leave Graham Thorpe out of an Ashes series! He has an average somewhere around 50 against the Aussies - the man rises to the occasion, which, compared to the rest of the team, would be a refreshing change. GRRRR. Now I'm all angry, and that cant be good for anyone :-(

What s been happening in my life than? Well, a rather shoddy weekend, since my mother has now gone and got ordained as a priest. I cannot stand any major church, for a wide range of reasons (which I shan't go into again :-| ), so I wasn't too keen on the weekends events...
Yesterday was rather more fun, as we took the beavers up to the district scouting HQ (a wonderful resource in a beautiful valley a short drive away) for their annual boat race. Whilst this did result in many of them getting completely drenched, that's a problem for their parents, and it made the beavers themselves very happy :-)
And today I discovered that London has pipped Paris for the 2012 Olympics, which is also nice: one has to beat the French whenever possible ;-)
